Background
Our Level 1 course is designed to equip you with essential barista skills, including setting up a grinder, making espresso, and mastering the art of foaming and texturing milk for cappuccinos.
Our training is designed to provide an introductory understanding of coffee, laying the groundwork for developing practical skills in milk techniques and latte art. Additionally, you will learn and implement crucial health and safety practices and enhance your customer service abilities.
The course spans one day or can be split over two days, with 4-hour sessions each day. It includes both theoretical and practical components to ensure a comprehensive learning experience.
Upgrade
By attending our training programme, you are already preparing for the SCA Barista Skills Foundation certification. Upgrade to include the certification fee to qualify for the exam.

Immersed in the Brunei coffee scene since 2012, Firdaus has fostered a profound passion for coffee by managing esteemed establishments such as Gloria Jean's Coffee and It's A Grind Coffee House. With credentials that include the SCA Barista Skills Professional certification and other SCA accolades, Firdaus is celebrated for his unwavering dedication and expertise in specialty coffee.
Currently serving as the lead barista at Noice and Grey Matter Coffee Werks, Firdaus brings a wealth of experience and skill to the craft. His contributions extend beyond the counter, having served as a Technical Judge for the Malaysian Barista Championships in 2018 and 2020, as well as the Cup Coder for the 2024 Busan World Espresso Championship. He also volunteered at the 2024 Malaysia Coffee Week.
Recently achieving 3rd Runner-Up in the 2024 ASEAN Barista Team Championship with the Bean Bandits, Firdaus is committed to continuous improvement in his coffee craftsmanship. Firdaus looks forward to sharing his industry knowledge and hands-on experience as a coffee trainer, aiming to inspire a new generation of coffee professionals and enthusiasts with his blend of expertise and passion.
